More Wildlife in the Wild.

We were driving in Beecroft Peninsula...

When...

Stop!

I yelled.

The big dude dutifully listened.

And with a cloud of dust.

And a spattering of rocks.

He stopped the car.

And behold!

Shuffle shuffling along.

An echidna.

undoubtedly one of the coolest animals that is!

With it's long, pointed nose.

And its little, wary eyes.

Claws that are cute...yet sharp.

And all those spines!

What a find!

What a find!

We were able to get nice and close.

The kids were even allowed one short touch each.

The quills pointed upwards.

The head curled low.

One spiky, defensive bundle of life.

Then back in the car to watch...

As the echidna shuffle shuffled gently out of sight.
